CALL FOR ARTIST PROPOSALS: 2024 EXHIBITION SCHEDULE
Waseca Art Center (WAC) is a rural nonprofit organization that offers the opportunity for all people to understand and value the arts. Through exhibits and programs, we present a welcoming and diverse experience that encourages questioning, creativity, and critical thinking. The WAC has two gallery spaces which each host one exhibit per month. The WAC Exhibit Committee is seeking proposals for solo and group exhibitions for 2024 that focus on MN subjects, agriculture, nature, and community.
$150 exhibit fee for exhibiting artists, non-profit and community groups are exempt from the fee. WAC provides the reception and marketing for your event. Please do not let this fee stop you from applying; we may have sponsorship available to those wishing for assistance. There is no fee to apply.
We have also updated our fee for gallery sales; WAC asks for 30% commission. Please let us know how much you would like to receive for your artwork and we will add our fee on top of that. [i.e.: you would like $100 for a framed photograph – WAC will list it at $130]
Artists interested in applying for a solo exhibition should submit:
• Artist Statement, one page maximum
• Short Bio | include a phone number, place of residence, and if you
request fee assistance for the $150. fee
• 6-10 digital images of your work that are representative of the
proposed exhibition; up to 3MB ea.
• Artists are responsible for shipping/delivery of installation-ready artwork
Artists interested in applying for a group exhibition should submit:
Include phone numbers and places of residence in bio
• Short Bios of all participating artists
• Artist Statements of all participating artists
• 6–10 digital images representative of the exhibition; up to 3MB in size each
• Artists are responsible for shipping/delivery of installation-ready artwork the
Friday before your exhibit opens
Artists submitting video work, please send links to work samples via You-tube,
Vimeo, or similar.
DUE DATE & SUBMISSION DETAILS:
Proposals are due Sat., October 21st by 5:00 p.m. Any submissions NOT postmarked or delivered by the due date may not be considered.
Proposals will be reviewed immediately; notifications will be sent to artists by the second week of August.
